Freedom HKY Coaches
and Staff

Freedom HKY Coaches are comprised of current and former college players and US National Team athletes. Many of the coaches are USFHA Level 1 and Level 2 certified coaches. 

The Freedom HKY coaches strive to promote a positive atmosphere geared toward working hard and getting the most out of practice and games.

  • Coached and played at Braxgata HC in Antwerp, Belgium
  • Former USA National Team Member
  • Former All American at University of Iowa

Kasey Tapman

  • Current USA Indoor National Team Member
  • Current USA Developmental Squad Member
  • Current Volunteer Assistant at University of Maryland
  • Won 1 National Championships, 1 ACC Championship and 1 BIG Ten Championship at The University of Maryland 

Natalie Hunter

  • Former USA National Team Member
  • All American at University of Maryland
  • Won 2  National Championships and 2 ACC Championships at University of Maryland 
  • Currently studying to be a Doctor of Physical Therapy

Maggie Ellington

  • Began with Freedom HKY in 2012 as a U12 player. 
  • Played at UMass Amherst for 2 years, both years making the A10 tournament
  • Coached Mini Minutes program at UMass
  • Currently studying Early Elementary Education at University of Maryland, College Park

  • Won a National Championship and 2 CAA Conference Championships at University of Delaware
  • Currently studying Criminal Justice and Criminology at University of Maryland, College Park.

  • PCA Double Goal Coach
  • Currently works as a risk consultant

  • Current Assistant Coach at Hood College
  • Played both field hockey and Lacrosse at Bridgewater College
  • Former League Director at Panthers United
